The programme served as an important platform for constructive dialogue, highlighting the value of collaboration between community organisations and public representatives in promoting inclusive development.
During the interaction, members of the Welfare Action Committee shared suggestions and highlighted various issues concerning civic amenities, roads, sanitation, public utilities, neighbourhood infrastructure, and other community-related matters. MLA Kulwant Singh patiently listened to every concern and assured the committee that all genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned government departments for prompt and appropriate action. He emphasized that regular engagement with community organisations helps strengthen communication between citizens and the administration while ensuring responsive and accountable governance.
The discussion also focused on the important role played by resident welfare organisations and community groups in identifying grassroots issues and supporting local development initiatives. Welfare committees act as an important link between residents and the administration by promoting public participation, encouraging community awareness, and helping ensure that development projects reflect the actual needs and aspirations of local communities. Such collaborative efforts contribute significantly to improving civic infrastructure and strengthening neighbourhood development across Mohali.
The programme reflected the Punjab Government’s continued commitment to citizen-centric governance under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Regular interaction with welfare organisations, resident associations, and community stakeholders has become an integral part of strengthening public services, improving development planning, and ensuring greater transparency and accountability in governance. Such dialogues also support balanced urban development by encouraging community participation in the planning and implementation of public welfare initiatives.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that community organisations play a vital role in strengthening democracy by bringing local concerns directly to the attention of public representatives. He stated that the Punjab Government remains committed to improving public infrastructure, enhancing citizen services, and delivering inclusive development that benefits every section of society. He added that active participation by welfare organisations significantly contributes to better planning and more effective implementation of development works.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the members of the Welfare Action Committee for the warm welcome, honour, and valuable suggestions shared during the programme. He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining regular dialogue with community groups and ensuring that development initiatives continue to address the priorities of residents across the Mohali constituency.
The programme concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between community organisations and the administration for the overall development of SAS Nagar Mohali.
