Mohali Villages Receive Development Grants and Housing Assistance Under Rangla Punjab Initiative
A major boost to rural development and social welfare was witnessed in Mohali as financial assistance was distributed to villages and economically weaker families under the Punjab Government’s Rangla Punjab initiative. The programme aims to strengthen village infrastructure while improving the living conditions of deserving households through targeted welfare support.
As part of the initiative, development grants worth ₹2 crore were distributed among 39 villages to support various local development projects. The allocated funds will be utilized for infrastructure improvement, public amenities, and community-focused works that address the needs of rural residents.
Strengthening village infrastructure remains a crucial aspect of sustainable and inclusive growth. Development grants provided under programmes like Rangla Punjab help local communities undertake essential projects that improve public facilities, enhance community assets, and create a better quality of life for residents.
Alongside village development funding, financial assistance was also extended to 31 needy families for the construction of houses. Access to safe and secure housing is considered a key component of social welfare, and such support enables beneficiaries to build stable living environments for their families.
The initiative reflects a balanced approach towards development by focusing on both community infrastructure and individual welfare. By investing in village-level projects and supporting economically vulnerable families, the programme seeks to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society.
For villages across the Mohali constituency, these investments are expected to contribute significantly towards improved public facilities, better living standards, and long-term rural progress. Enhanced infrastructure and housing security can have a lasting positive impact on local communities and future generations.
The Punjab Government has continued to focus on strengthening rural infrastructure, expanding welfare initiatives, and supporting community development through various programmes. Rangla Punjab is one such initiative designed to improve basic amenities and promote overall rural growth across the state.
Speaking during the programme, MLA Kulwant Singh stated that development should reach every village and every deserving family. He noted that the grants provided under the Rangla Punjab initiative would support infrastructure improvement and community development, while housing assistance would help families achieve better living conditions.
He further emphasized the importance of continued investment in villages, highlighting that improved infrastructure, better facilities, and social welfare support are essential for building stronger and more prosperous communities.
The distribution of development grants and housing assistance marks another step towards inclusive growth and citizen welfare in Punjab. As development efforts continue, initiatives focused on rural infrastructure, housing support, and community empowerment are expected to play a key role in improving the quality of life for residents across the region.
