MLA Kulwant Singh Interacts with Saidpur Residents During Lok Milni
A Lok Milni programme was organised in Village Saidpur, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 2 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh interacted with local residents to review public grievances, discuss village development priorities, and strengthen citizen participation in governance. The programme provided villagers with a direct platform to share their concerns, offer suggestions, and receive updates on the Punjab Government’s ongoing welfare initiatives under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, residents raised several issues related to roads, drainage, sanitation, drinking water supply, street lighting, public infrastructure, and other civic amenities affecting the village. MLA Kulwant Singh patiently listened to every representation and assured the villagers that all genuine concerns would be taken up with the concerned government departments to ensure prompt action and effective resolution. He emphasised that regular Lok Milni programmes help strengthen responsive governance by enabling direct communication between citizens and the administration.
The meeting also highlighted the major development works and public welfare initiatives undertaken across SAS Nagar Mohali over the past four and a half years. Residents were informed about improvements in rural infrastructure, road connectivity, healthcare, education, drinking water facilities, sanitation, citizen services, and various welfare schemes that have contributed to improving the quality of life across both villages and urban areas. Villagers were encouraged to remain actively involved in the development process by sharing constructive feedback and local priorities for future planning.
Regular Lok Milni programmes play a vital role in promoting transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance. Such meetings help identify grassroots issues, improve coordination between government departments and public representatives, and ensure that development initiatives remain aligned with the genuine needs of local communities. Continuous public engagement also contributes to faster implementation of development projects and more effective delivery of public services.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that direct interaction with residents is essential for understanding local challenges and ensuring that governance remains people-centric. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government continues to strengthen public infrastructure, expand citizen services, and implement welfare programmes that directly benefit every section of society. He added that regular engagement with villagers helps the administration identify development priorities more effectively and ensures that progress reaches every village of Mohali.
He further encouraged residents to actively participate in community development by continuing to share their valuable suggestions and working closely with the administration. He emphasised that strong cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is the key to achieving inclusive growth and sustainable development across the constituency.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, strengthening rural infrastructure, and improving public services across SAS Nagar Mohali.
