MLA Kulwant Singh Reviews Public Issues During Manak Majra Visit
A community interaction programme was organised in Village Manak Majra, SAS Nagar Mohali, on 2 July 2026, where MLA Kulwant Singh met local residents to review ongoing development works, discuss public welfare initiatives, and understand the future development priorities of the village. The programme provided an important platform for direct dialogue between citizens and their elected representative while sharing updates on the Punjab Government’s development agenda under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.
During the interaction, residents were informed about the major development projects and welfare schemes implemented across SAS Nagar Mohali during the past four and a half years. Discussions focused on improvements in road connectivity, drinking water supply, sanitation, healthcare, education, rural infrastructure, public utilities, citizen services, and various welfare programmes that have significantly improved the quality of life across villages and urban areas. Villagers also shared their suggestions, highlighted local development priorities, and discussed issues affecting their community.
Residents raised concerns regarding roads, drainage, street lighting, sanitation, drinking water facilities, and other civic amenities. MLA Kulwant Singh listened carefully to every representation and assured the villagers that all genuine issues would be taken up with the concerned government departments for prompt action and effective resolution. He emphasised that regular interaction with citizens enables the administration to better understand grassroots challenges and ensure that development works are implemented according to the actual needs of local communities.
The programme highlighted the importance of continuous communication between public representatives and citizens in strengthening transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance. Community meetings improve coordination between government departments and local residents, increase awareness about government welfare schemes, and encourage greater public participation in the planning and execution of development projects. Such interactions also play a vital role in ensuring inclusive growth and strengthening public confidence in governance.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA Kulwant Singh said that the progress of Mohali depends on continuous dialogue with the people and development that addresses real community needs. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government remains committed to strengthening public infrastructure, expanding citizen services, and implementing welfare initiatives that directly benefit every section of society. He added that the valuable suggestions and active participation of villagers will continue to play an important role in shaping the future development of Manak Majra and the entire constituency.
He further encouraged residents to remain actively involved in community meetings and work together with the administration for the progress of their village. He emphasised that cooperation between citizens, elected representatives, and government departments is essential for transparent governance, better civic amenities, and sustainable long-term development across Mohali.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment to accelerating development works, strengthening rural infrastructure, and improving public services throughout SAS Nagar Mohali. Through sustained investment in essential infrastructure, responsive governance, and active community participation, the Punjab Government and MLA Kulwant Singh remain dedicated to building stronger villages, enhancing civic amenities, and creating a more prosperous and inclusive future for the people of Mohali.
