He emphasised that preventive action before the arrival of heavy rains is the most effective way to protect residents from inconvenience and safeguard public infrastructure.

Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana instructed officials to intensify the cleaning of stormwater drains, remove silt and waste from sewerage systems, repair damaged roads, and ensure that all pumping stations and drainage networks remain fully functional throughout the monsoon. He stressed that every department must work in close coordination so that civic services remain efficient and emergency situations can be handled promptly whenever required.

The inspection covered several residential and commercial areas where proper drainage and sanitation infrastructure are essential for public safety and smooth traffic movement during periods of heavy rainfall. During the inspection, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana issued strict instructions to the concerned departments to maintain high standards of cleanliness and ensure that all civic maintenance works are carried out with quality and efficiency.
