A special pilgrimage bus under the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme was flagged off from Sector 79, SAS Nagar Mohali, by Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana, enabling senior citizens to embark on a spiritually enriching journey to some of Punjab’s most revered religious and historical destinations. The initiative, launched by the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that elderly citizens can undertake sacred pilgrimages with dignity, comfort, and complete government support.
Before the departure, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met the senior citizens, interacted with them warmly, and extended his heartfelt wishes for a safe, peaceful, and spiritually fulfilling journey. He appreciated the enthusiasm of the pilgrims and said that the scheme provides elderly citizens with a valuable opportunity to visit important religious and heritage sites without facing financial or logistical difficulties.
As part of the pilgrimage, the devotees will visit several iconic destinations, including Sri Harmandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Bhagwan Valmiki Tirath Sthal, Jallianwala Bagh, and the Partition Museum in Amritsar. These places hold immense religious, cultural, and historical significance, offering participants an opportunity to seek spiritual blessings while experiencing Punjab’s rich heritage and inspiring legacy.
The Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme has become one of the Punjab Government’s important welfare initiatives for senior citizens. Comprehensive arrangements, including comfortable transportation, assistance, accommodation, medical support, and other essential facilities, have been made to ensure that the pilgrims can complete their journey safely and conveniently.
