Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana Holds Public Grievance Meeting at Municipal Corporation Office
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana met residents from different wards of SAS Nagar Mohali at the Municipal Corporation Office during a public grievance and citizen interaction programme aimed at strengthening transparent and responsive governance. The meeting provided residents with an opportunity to directly present civic concerns, discuss development priorities, and seek timely intervention from the Municipal Corporation regarding issues affecting their neighbourhoods.
Residents from various wards highlighted a wide range of civic issues, including roads, sewerage, sanitation, drainage, street lighting, drinking water supply, cleanliness, parks, waste management, and other essential municipal services. Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana patiently listened to every representation, carefully reviewed the concerns raised by the citizens, and assured them that all genuine matters would be examined on priority and forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt and effective action.
Emphasising the importance of continuous public engagement, the Mayor said that regular interaction with residents enables the Municipal Corporation to better understand ground-level challenges and identify development priorities across different wards. Such meetings play a crucial role in strengthening transparency, accountability, and coordination among departments while ensuring that civic projects and public services are planned according to the actual needs of the people.
Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana directed the concerned officials to review every complaint thoroughly and ensure timely follow-up until the issues are resolved. He stressed that efficient grievance redressal, regular monitoring of civic works, and improved coordination between departments are essential for delivering reliable municipal services. He also encouraged residents to continue sharing constructive suggestions and actively participate in the city’s development by reporting civic concerns through appropriate channels.
Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sarabjeet Singh Samana said that maintaining direct communication with citizens remains one of the strongest foundations of effective local governance. He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to modernise civic infrastructure, strengthen public services, and deliver transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance across the state. He assured residents that every genuine issue brought before the Municipal Corporation would receive sincere attention and that all possible efforts would be made to resolve public grievances without unnecessary delay.
The Mayor further reiterated that active public participation is essential for sustainable urban development and better municipal planning. He noted that valuable feedback received from residents helps improve service delivery, prioritise infrastructure projects, and ensure that future development initiatives benefit every section of society.
